FAQ

Over time, engine oil loses its effectiveness in several ways, making it essential to ensure the oil in your car is clean and not damaging vital engine components.

As oil breaks down with use, it accumulates sludge, dirt, and other contaminants from the combustion process. To prevent these particles from circulating through the engine, an SMP oil filter is used to keep the oil as clean as possible.

Regardless of how well a vehicle is maintained, engines naturally produce debris and deposits that pollute the oil. While the SMP oil filter initially captures these particles, it eventually becomes clogged, reducing its effectiveness. That’s why regular oil and filter changes with SMP oil are crucial to keeping your engine clean and running smoothly.

Regularly checking your vehicle’s oil level is key to maintaining optimal engine performance. The oil keeps all moving parts lubricated, minimizing friction and preventing damage. An SMP oil change service replaces old, dirty oil with clean, high-performance SMP synthetic oil to ensure your engine components continue to function efficiently.

An SMP oil filter collects contaminants during use until it can no longer prevent harmful particles from entering the engine. That’s why it’s generally recommended to change the oil filter at the same time as the SMP oil change.

Oil and filter changes are usually needed every 10,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. Replacing both at the same time ensures clean oil can flow freely and provide optimal engine protection until the next service.

Our certified technicians will help you choose the best SMP engine oil for your vehicle according to your manufacturer’s specifications.

Oil and filter changes are included in all Interim, Full, and Major SMP service packages.

An SMP oil filter typically lasts between 5,000 and 8,000 miles, depending on your vehicle type and driving habits. To maintain engine health, it’s advisable to replace your oil filter during every SMP oil change service.
